Preserve the Memory
By HiLine Hal
Building a new home is an exciting event in people’s lives. Building with HiLine Homes is even more exciting because you can get involved in the process. Are you helping prepare your site for construction? Are you painting your home yourself? This is a momentous occasion; be sure to preserve the memories! Especially with today’s technology, there are many ways you can make those memories last. Here are a just a few ideas to get you started:
- Taking pictures or videos
- Writing in a journal
- Making a scrapbook
Taking pictures and videos throughout the construction of your home is probably the first thing that comes to mind when you think of preserving your memories. Take plenty of pictures or videos at each stage of construction and use them to make a video slide show or movie. Start with site preparation and end with moving into your home. Be sure to include major events such as your foundation pour, your truss delivery, or the painting of your home. If you’re a fan of social media, keep your Facebook or Instagram friends up-to-date with photos or videos of what’s happening at your site.
You can also print those photos and include them in a scrapbook. There are many other interesting items you might consider putting in your scrapbook. Along the way, keep a copy of your floor plan, your building permit card, or perhaps a business card of your favorite subcontractor. Not only will these bring back fond memories, but they’re also a great reference for information for the future.
However you choose to do it, take the time to preserve the memories of the construction of your beautiful new home. Being able to look back at this joyous time in your life is priceless!
If your home is under construction now and you’d like a copy of your floor plan for your scrapbook, we’ll gladly provide one. Contact your local HiLine Homes office, and a Home Consultant will be happy to help.
